GDF Suez, Bonaparte LNG

Development Overview

GDF Suez is Operator of the Petrel, Tern and Frigate gas fields in the Bonaparte Basin of the Timor Sea, NW Australia, located in approximately 100 m water. GDF Suez intends to develop the fields using a Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility. As part of Field Development Planning activities, GDF Suez has recently performed Pre-FEED studies and project execution planning work to determine the extent of the processing facilities to be located upstream of the FLNG vessel.

Services Provided

Project Management for the Upstream Pre-FEED studies, which addressed the wells, infield infrastructure, potential processing platforms and flowlines to the FLNG vessel. The objectives of the Pre-FEED work were:

  • To establish the preferred Upstream development concept for further definition;
  • To identify and address areas of technical risk; and
  • To establish a preliminary project execution plan.

Confidential Client, Exmouth Plateau

Development Overview

The Exmouth Plateau area consists of numerous gas condensate fields, located in up to 2000m water, approximately 300-400 km from Onslow. As part of conceptual studies the client is accessing both Floating LNG (FLNG) and conventional onshore LNG. One of the concept alternatives assessed as part of the conventional LNG studies was the use of a gas FPS situated in a remote deep water environment providing gas for onshore liquefaction

Services Provided

Project Management of the gas FPS engineering. The scope comprised the FPS risers, topsides, hull, subsea/pipelines and non facilities scopes (HSE, Flow Assurance). The services also included preliminary definition and cost estimation of the associated onshore LNG facilities.

Woodside Pluto Expansion

Development Overview

Woodside has recently completed the execution of Train 1 of the Pluto LNG Development. This project consists of subsea wells located in licence WA-34-L, the Pluto Riser Platform (PRP) located on the continental shelf and a new onshore LNG development at the Burrup peninsular. Woodside is planning to expand the LNG plant with Train 2 and potentially Train 3, fed with gas from the Pluto / Xena fields plus gas developed from one or more deepwater blocks approximately 150km from the PRP.

Services Provided

Project and Engineering Management for Theme/Concept Select studies to develop a feasible development concept design for the deep water exploration discoveries and Concept Select studies for the shallow water Xena Development.

Management of the Key Decision process; including methodology, framing and scope planning.

Woodside, Sunrise Gas FPSO

Development Overview

The Greater Sunrise Development consists of the Sunrise and Troubadour gas condensate fields, located in up to 600m water, approximately 500 km from Darwin. As part of conceptual studies Woodside has assessed three concepts: Floating LNG (FLNG), Darwin LNG (DLNG) and Timor-Leste LNG (TLNG). One of the concept alternatives assessed as part of the DLNG studies was the use of a gas FPSO.

Services Provided

Project Management of the gas FPSO engineering. The scope comprised the FPSO topsides and hull, together with the integration of output from the remaining facilities scopes (Turret/Mooring, Risers, Subsea/Pipelines) and non facilities scopes (HSE, Flow Assurance, RAM).

BHPB Petroleum, Macedon

Development Overview

The Macedon Development is a gas project producing reserves in the offshore Macedon gas field located in Production Lease WA-42-L. The project involves four production wells supplying a wet gas pipeline to an onshore gas treatment plant at Ashburton North, 17 km SW of Onslow. A sales gas pipeline will be connected to the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline for sale to the WA domestic gas market. The gas plant will have a design capacity of 200 MMSCFD.

Services Provided

Project Management of the Selection Phase studies. The objectives of the studies were to: appraise, generate and shortlist concepts for further definition; develop each short listed concept to understand HSE, technical and commercial risks; select the preferred concept; prepare cost estimates and schedules for the development concept(s); and provide a sound basis for FEED.

Inpex, Ichthys

Development Overview

The Ichthys Field, in the Browse Basin, is a large scale gas project with gas reserves of approximately 12 TCF and over 500 million barrels of condensate. The Ichthys Development Project will initially produce 8.4 mtpa of LNG, 1.6 mtpa of LPG and approximately 100,000 barrels of condensate per day. The Project is now in the construction phase, following FID in January 2012.

Services Provided

Engineering Management for the offshore Concept Select studies to develop a feasible design for the Development. Study scope included: evaluation of fixed and floating facilities; evaluation of the location and configuration of the facilities; comparison and optimisation of processing options; flow assurance; technical and cost definition of the facilities; preliminary project execution planning.
